A group of nine volunteers representing BrightView’s support for women joined Dress For Success (DFS) for a day, helping women at risk to take steps to strengthen their career trajectory and gain confidence in their abilities in the working-world as they start their job search.
The day was filled with stories of the trials and tribulations for each women seeking help from DFS and provided our team members the opportunity to offer career coaching on resumes, interviews, and overall words of encouragement to each women. Once questions were answered and each women felt empowered to begin moving forward in her journey to find employment, a BrightView team guided them into DFS’ boutique which included everything they would need to start a new job with a good first impression. Each women was fitted (and fussed over) for business suits, dress shoes, blouses, and accessories to make a complete outfit from head to toe. For some women, this was the first time they had received so much attention and they were touched by the effort of each volunteer to make sure their job-seeking path was successful.
Overall, this day was about guiding and supporting one another as we all navigate the working-world as women. The BrighView team strived to provide a sense of empowerment and guidance for this group of women, knowing that at the end of the day, we are all in this together.
