Dress for Success_CombinedIn January, BrightView kicked off our involvement with Dress for Success by organizing a nationwide collection drive to gather accessories for their boutiques that serve women who are entering the workforce after challenging life situations. Branch Administrators and Office Managers in several locations coordinated the effort to encourage BrightView team members to donate items such as handbags, scarves, gloves, leather-bound portfolios, and jewelry. We are pleased to report that over 200 BrightView branches were matched with a Dress for Success location near their office, and nearly 50 Dress for Success locations received donations. Thanks BrightView for supporting this initial effort.

One of the added benefits of this drive was the ability to introduce BrightView to Dress for Success affiliates around the country. This is critical to our goal of finding more ways to support this organization, ultimately creating a pipeline for direct hiring for BrightView. So thank you to the team members who have made those initial introductions. They each learned about their branch’s specific needs for volunteers, mentoring, and future programs. The next step is for BrightView employees to get involved in their local Dress for Success branches. GROW will be rolling out introductory programs in a few strategic locations and plans are in the works for BrightView job openings to be posted on a national jobs database that Dress for Success clients can access.
