Dulles: Collaboration leads to extra business

Dulles Branch — Sterling, Virginia

Through collaborating with their Tree Care team, a prospecting partnership now exists to more efficiently achieve profitable growth for the Dulles Branch. Their One BrightView approach has the team’s arborists sending their Tree Care work lists to the branch’s Business Developers. Team members at the branch then take that list and reach out to the Tree Care customers to see if they need further landscaping services. This approach recently led to a $50,000 piece of business.

I coordinated with our in-house BrightView arbor team and have created a prospecting partnership. Our arborist, Carlos, will send me lists of properties on his wish list for tree work. I then attack these targets, attempting to secure landscape contracts while also pointing out the needed tree work for the prospects to try and get our foot in the door. While using Carlos’ list one day, I went to The Points at Woodland Park. I pulled the building engineer aside and asked about the landscaping, which he replied they were getting a quote from Ruppert. I reached out to their team on the spot and qualified the opportunity and asked if I could offer a bid as well, and they gave me three days. The estimating team did a rapid takeoff and our branch manager and I narrowed down the pricing and submitted the quote on time. By Monday, they called to offer us the contract. We started work on the property in May with a total contract value of $50,000.
